It’s been a red-hot minute since Gold Coast leviathans HELM last took to the stage, erupting onto the scene back in 2008 and taking no prisoners ever since with their potent brew of sonic brawn and brooding might.
While it’s now been just over eight years since fans last laid ears on brand-new material from these heavy hard-hitters, HELM have continued to offer a sharp and steadfast port in the Aussie music storm, simultaneously capable of
assaulting and captivating your senses with firm and effortless ease.
Most recently seen live in action performing at the 2014 Soundwave Festival before closing out their farewell tour the following year, 2022 is now set to kick off with a swarthy bang, HELM-style, as the original line-up of frontman Lucas
Stone, guitarist and vocalist Dario Lagana, guitarist Scott Ireland, bassist Ryan Swierczewski and drummer Mat Wilton reunite for a mammoth one-off show, performing their debut album Vol 1…Keelhaul in full at The Triffid in Brisbane on January 14.
Along for the voyage with HELM in January 2022 will also be the swaggering stylings of local Brisbane rockers Smoking Martha, launching their new album Universe live in action at the Triffid alongside the almighty HELM.
And while long-time HELM fans can get salivating about the prospect of witnessing where it all began for the band, there’s also some other exciting prospects on the horizon for the Gold Coast heavies, with the band revealing: “And yeah, to clear up any speculation…official confirmation that behind the scenes, the heaviest, darkest, dead-weight of musical fury that we’ve ever forged, is taking shape. Stay close…”
SET SAIL WITH HELM ON FRIDAY 14 JANUARY AT THE TRIFFID IN BRISBANE, WITH HELM’S ORIGINAL LINEUP PERFORMING VOL 1…KEELHAUL IN FULL.
