On Australia Day, January 26, 2022, it will be ten years TO THE DAY that the first issue of HEAVY Magazine was published onto a world that wasn’t – and probably still isn’t – ready for a dedicated hard rock and heavy metal publication.
Thanks to the vision, dedication and passion of Olivia Reppas, who the music community has come to affectionately know as Livvy, Australian metal lovers finally had an outlet for change, and, more importantly, a way to connect with a growing musical movement that now threatens to engulf the world.
Of course, we can’t let this go by without some form of celebration, so on January 26 we will be holding a celebration party to end all parties in Melbourne with over ten bands, and on January 29 in Sydney with another stellar line-up.
Venues are locked in, as is a large chunk of the line-up, so expect an official first announcement and loads of other notifications in the coming weeks.
