Johnny Boxer is best known to the world as Bobo the Pizza Chef from television series Fat Pizza, but there is much more to the man, the myth, and the legend than just that.
Each week Johnny joins HEAVY to answer questions from you, the fans and public, plus each week we present little snippets of the great mans past in order for you to get to know the man behind the mystery. Johnny is a truly unique character and person and one who I have the privilege to call a friend.
This week he answers questions ranging from what he would count as the soundtrack to his life musically, other acting roles, being in prison and how it has affected him, who the most famous person in his phone book is, what metal song he would cover and also recounts a hilarious tale of his time with Leonardo DiCaprio on the set of The Great Gatsby.
Sit back and enjoy the soothing tones of Johnny Boxer and learn a bit about modern history in the process. Below the interview, we have included one of Johnny’s poems, as well as a portrait drawn by his daughter Ashley Bokser.
Once again thanks to Louise Crothers for ensuring everything is factual and precise.
A TOWER BELOW
If money could buy an all-seeing eye
There would be colourless glee in a dye that the highly educated mindset in a box of forget me nots
Lust undone
My lust unbound
I ponder no less
To extreme my leisure zest
It leaps tall buildings
Until the day I rest.
It doesn’t mean I’m better than you
Simply less is more
But we know it only gifted a few…
They hark a herald I must be a king
The riches I toll between dwell deep and within
If I tried any harder
It would result in a sin
A Lord at best it be my commandment to win
For all to see.
Begrudge and behold
There is nothing to mess
It’s only the rich who get on one knee to confess
I’ve never stolen from the poor
Nor given to the rich
I stand alone in my own self made ditch
For I know my deep
My eye to the rim
As I peer out
There is little to see
They come in droves
As they whip oneself
To glorify in me…”
