There’s plenty happening on the Australian music scene at the moment, especially by way of touring acts, which is why 1000Mods are our featured cover artist this week. The stoner rock outfit land in this country in just over a week for a run of shows and spoke with HEAVY this week to tell us all about what to expect.
Social Distortion, Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening, Darkest Hour and Paradise Kitty are all on the radar and all spent some time on the HEAVY couch to talk about it.
We also caught up with The Poor at their jam room for a fantastic chat with the whole band about their new album High Price Deed which dropped today. South Australian metal machine Headbore also stopped by to give us the latest on what they have been up to.
Speaking of tours, we also bring you up to speed on upcoming shows from nothing nowhere., the Smashing Pumpkins have announced a massive tour with Jane’s Addiction, Amyl & The Sniffers, Redhook and more, Hed (PE) aren’t far away and there’s new announcements from Church of the Cosmic Skull and UDO Dirkschneider, plus Frankenbok have announced another Queensland show with all of the details inside.
Aussie bands have dropped a few songs this past week as well, and we bring you new tracks from Beast Machine, RedHook, Sun Traitors, Munt, Invent Animate, Floodlights, Engraved, Dune Rats, Lo! and Snake Mountain.
With The Poor releasing their new album today we revisit our review and what a cracker it is, plus our review team also went to the recent Glam Fest and Red Hot Chili Peppers shows, with their thoughts and some great pix there for you to see.
Remember, we have an abundance of talent here in our own back yards so get out there and support Australian music. The best in the world.
Until next week, stay HEAVY
