GROOVER Review: REPEAT ‘You Would Know’

Share This:

Swedish stoner rock outfit Repeat released their self-titled debut album last October, and have shared the track You Would Know with us for a sneak listen.

Kicking straight into gear with a barrage of drums and guitar, this track oozes intent from the get-go, a chunky guitar riff keeping things in line as the rest of the band reigns chaos.

There’s elements of punk and rock blending nicely here, with flowing vocals only adding to the atmosphere.

Repeat throw the first surprise in just after the one-minute mark, with a dramatically extended pause of silence initially appearing to be a glitch but in reality acts as a sonic pause that stutters in and out sporadically. It is an unusual run of pauses, but somehow does little to affect the momentum of the track.

Nice touch.

Then, just as you settle in for the long haul, You Would Know pauses one last time, signaling the end of the track after just over two minutes.

Short, sharp, and deadly. What more could one ask for?
