Are you ready for the madcap chaos of Australia’s largest travelling music festival? Good Things season returns with a head-spinning line-up fit for a fever dream. Across three East Coast dates, this year’s Good Things Festival will deliver a trip down the rabbit hole with a stacked bill of international heavyweights, old favourites, hungry up-and-comers, and Aussie staples. And in a boon for younger attendees, Sydney’s Centennial Park festival date will be a 16+ event for the first time!

In the lead-up to Good Things 2024, HEAVY will be running a small feature on the bands playing so you can get up to speed before the big day. Today we bring you L7.

L7’s signature sound of a heavy, catchy, mixture of punk, metal, noise and pop helped usher in the era of Grunge. Founded in Los Angeles by Donita Sparks – guitar and vocals, and Suzi Gardner – guitar and vocals, the band features Dee Plakas on drums and Jennifer Finch – bass and vocals.

Known for their unforgettably raucous live performances, the band has also released seven studio albums, a greatest hits record, a double album covers LP, and numerous singles producing both underground and mainstream chart-topping hits including Shove, Pretend We’re Dead, Shitlist, Andres, Fuel My Fire and more. Their music has been featured in television, video games (Grand Theft Auto, Rock Band 2) and classic films including Oliver Sone‘s Natural Born Killers and John Water’s Serial Mom, in which they also star as the fictitious band Camel Lips.

A critically acclaimed documentary on the band, L7: Pretend We’re Dead was released in 2017 recording their rise to fame and their enduring contribution and legacy to the pantheon of rock and roll. They continue to record and tour the world to both old and new generations of music lovers.
