GOBLIN KING ‘Drugs, Blood and Death ‘n Roll’

Drawing on their love of bands like Gallows, Motörhead and Cancer Bats, Goblin King is already showing what the UK can produce when it comes to metal bands. With their edgy thrash and punk style, their EP will quickly transport you to a dingy underground club where the smell of the smoke machines is in the air. Describing themselves as ‘Dark. Virulent. Psychotic’ and having only formed within the last nine months, these guys (King;, Beast;, Jester & Sin) aren’t hanging about. Independently releasing their EP, Drugs, Blood & Death n Roll, you can tell that they are serious about what they want from the metal scene and the world. With King’s voice being a homage to Lemmy, Motörhead fans may find it comforting that his legacy lives on in a new band. Here is another band that increases the justification as to why the UK produces the best rock and metal bands.

There’s no beating around the bush as the EP throws you into the deep end with the title track, “Drugs, Blood & Death n Roll”. Vocalist King growls into your ears, setting the tone of the band from the get-go. All five songs on this EP are filled with London angst and fire from the bellies of the inhabitants of the UK. With songs that will invoke distant memories of early gigs and songs that will want you to shout the lyrics loud while you turn the EP up to 11, the four members of this new band will leave you wanting more.

With a short-but-sweet EP, this is a good taste of what else Goblin King can bring to the table. They are a band that you can already tell will have good stage presence.
