When Californian hard rockers Trapt first arrived in Australia in 2017 they didn’t know what they were going to be in for. Since their debut in 1997 he band had built a steady following of Australian fans, and while they had shared the stage worldwide with acts like Hinder, Motley Crue and Nickelback they are never travelled to Australia.
2017 changed that and after the reception that received the band couldn’t wait to head back here… well wait no more. Trapt will be hitting our shores in February so HEAVY Mag sat down and had a chat with frontman Chris Taylor Brown to see what we can expect this time around.
“It’s great you know,” he says with a laugh as he talks about the band’s excitement and plans for Australia for their 2019 tour. “We plan on doing a heap of songs off our first album and also the big tracks off our subsequent album and then a heap of other tracks as well. We kind of just know what songs are going to do well, we get a lot of vibes about that and from our fans so we just try to put together a set that feels right.”
“The reaction had always been pretty good online,” he goes onto say as we talk about the reception the band received here in 2017 and whether it was something that they had expected. “But I’m not sure that we got what we expected… all the fans seemed to go crazy and just have a great time at our shows. Dude, we seriously didn’t know how many fans we had Australia, we had a promoter say to us ‘come out and do some shows’ so we did and we think it went pretty well. This time I’d just say to everybody be ready for a kick-ass rock-show, it will be full of energy and you will love every word.”
