Set amongst the lush bushland confines of Dashville, in the Hunter Valley, Thrashville returns, ready for a one day explosion of punk, rock, metal and all in between, on the darkest, firiest day of the year, Saturday, June 27, 2026.
This years line-up is a cracker, with FEAR (USA), Disentomb, The Bennies, Dregg, Hybrid Nightmares, Turtle Skull, Good Sniff, Private Wives, Couch Wizard, Catpiss, Purple Disturbance, Pyrefly, Whisperhead, Happy Fuckin Family, Immortal Within, I Hate People and Shacked! all set to deliver a great weekend of live entertainment.
HEAVY sent each band a short Q&A in order to get to know them a bit better. Today we get better acquainted with Shacked!.
HEAVY: THRASHVILLE 2026 is nearly upon us. Have you ever been to Thrashville before as a punter or performing?
SHACKED!: Never been to Thrashville or performed. We came close to winning a slot in the band comp last year so we are stoked we got asked this year!
H: What does it mean to you to be playing Thrashville?
S: All the boys are so keen. We’ve seen the lineups since the band was young and are so happy to be going AND playing with all the other sick bands.
H: How important are festivals like Thrashville for Australian bands?
S: The bush and more rural gigs/fezzies are always so sick. Everyone you meet is real loose, you get to meet and see so many cool bands you haven’t heard of before. We’ve just dipped our toes into playing these type of shows and we’re overjoyed to add Thrashville onto the list.
H: Which bands are you most looking forward to and why?
S: Purple Disturbance have played with some of our other bands and they are so much fun and rock it hard. Keen for I Hate People to show us how to punk properly. Few of the boys caught them at The Link n Pin in Woy Woy last year and frothed em.
H: It’s a long day of music. What will you be doing to make sure you will still be standing come your set time?
S: Plenty of food and water. Bit of resting. Probably a swim in a river if theres one nearby.
H: Give me your Top 3 Festival survival tips
S: Drink Water. Have enough food. Bring a lil guy with you around.
H: Which band – other than yourself – do you think will get up to the most mischief on the day?
S: Purple Disturbance are bound to break something expensive.
H: What song do you think the crowd would want you to play to finish your set and what are you going to play?
S: The crowd would probably want us to finish with Insect Dissection but we might close with a suite of
unreleased songs that flow really nicely into each other.
H: What one song would you tell festival goers to listen to of yours if they haven’t heard you play before?
S: Nothing Out There. Very much shows off our psyche punk/rock chops.
H: What is your most recent release?
S: Our Live at the Grove session.
H: Finally, what plans does your band have for the rest of 2026?
S: We are chipping away at album 3 and hope to get it out by the end of the year along with a tour up and down the coast.
