Brisbane metal titans Monarchy are readying themselves for the release of their latest single Have Faith In The Fallout this Friday, September 23.
A band that combines an unusual array of styles into an effective passage of work, Monarchy push the musical envelope to breaking point, as heard on their debut EP Deadly Sins.
With a fresh mantra and eclectic mixture of influences, the five piece promises to shake things up even further on next years EP, with Have Faith In The Fallout the first taste of what the band promises will be an exciting adventure.
HEAVY caught up with vocalist William and guitarist Gabriel to discuss the new music.
“If anyone who is listening has heard Monarchy before, I think you will come to expect this song is completely a different direction,” Willam offered. “We have more melodic parts, it’s different structurally and the tonality is different. I honestly think it is my favourite song, not only that the band has written, but I have been a part of writing. It is so…”
“It’s just such a huge step for Monarchy,” Gabrielle picked up. “It’s a completely different direction. We’re used to writing in a very different, structured and strict kind of strategy. With Have Faith In The Fallout it was a very free… we spent a lot of time writing with emotion instead of just writing logically if that makes sense.”
In the full interview, the boys dive deeper into the new track, the new direction and why, future release plans, forming during COVID and the difficulties it posed, how their sound comes together, live shows and more.
