Australia and New Zealand will be the first territories treated to Emmy Winner Matt Drummond’s latest, My Pet Dinosaur, with the film confirmed for a countrywide release through Pinnacle Films in April, sales agent Empress Road Pictures announced today in Berlin..
The family feature opens wide in both territories April 25.
Hoyts were the first chain to commit, agreeing to screen the film across all their cinemas in Aus and NZ.
This is the second feature for Drummond, renowned for his work as an Emmy Award winning, Visual Effects Supervisor. His previous film Dinosaur Island (2014), was nominated for a 2015 AEAF Award for Feature Film Animation.
A cross between E.T and Monster’s Inc, My Pet Dinosaur fixes on the unlikely friendship between a boy and a dinosaur. Cast includes Jordan Dulieu, Annabel Wolfe, Christopher Gabardi (The Thorn Birds: The Missing Years) and recognizable Aussie actor Tiriel Mora (Farscape).
