Eora/Sydney-based party punks FANGZ have unveiled their inaugural end of year party FANGZstock – to be held at The Lady Hampshire, Camperdown on Saturday, December 9.
Featuring 13 acts across two stages, FANGZstock is set to feature the likes of LOSER, Closure, Mac the Knife, Neighbourhood Void, Starcrazy, Lady Lazarus, WELL? and FANGZ themselves, rounding out the main stage. They’ll be joined by Lady Lyon, Ed Barnes, Blake Cateris, Sarah Yagki and Bronte Alva, who’ll grace the courtyard stage with intimate stripped-back sets.
Jameel Majam of FANGZ describes the motivation behind the project: “Impassioned by the quality of acts kicking about the place, we’ve decided to throw a party to showcase the ludicrous talent Australia has waiting in the wings. Think of this as an alternative to complaining about how ‘live music is dead in Sydney’. This is an event to unite music fans and show them a collection of bands handpicked personally by FANGZ.”
The event will also feature DJ sets from Emmy Mack (RedHook/triple j), Maya Aston-Louis (Best Bands You Never Heard), Good Intent and Malcolm Turntable. In addition to the music programming, the enigmatic Hissing Booth will also launch – a mysterious activation positioned to bring a stack of lols, with proceeds to be donated to Support Act. From 12pm – 4pm, the FANGZstock burger, chips and beer combo will be available for $15, and for the whole day, Young Henrys will be running $20 jugs.
