Outcast Bookings are hosting their first festival this month, at Stay Gold in Brunswick, Melbourne, on Saturday, December 16. With a bill that’s sure to satisfy any heavy music fan, the event will showcase the best independent Aussie talent.

The line-up consists of I Built The Sky, Eye Of The Enemy, GhostSeeker, Dyssidia, Ironstone, Druid, Rise From Ashes, Lumens and New Million.

Melbourne’s I Built The Sky are keen to close off 2023 as the headliners on their home turf after a successful year of touring the country. The band has established a name for itself both locally and internationally as a prominent instrumental outfit of world-class proportions and have amassed a following that has seen their music accumulate over 30 million streams online.

Punters can expect to be served up a delicious dish of progressive, guitar-driven music, interlaced with impressive drum work, extraordinary keyboard solos, nasty low-end hammering, all garnished with insane guitar shredding and some striking acoustic arrangements. I Built The Sky are guaranteed to end the night in a dynamic and epic fashion.

Eye Of The Enemy are practically veterans of the Melbourne metal scene, making a ruckus since 2006, gigging relentlessly with unending aggression, and delivering performances packed to the brim with energy, the death metal quintet are one of the best live acts the Australian metal scene has to offer.

Melbourne-based alternative metal outfit, GhostSeeker are geared up to draw in the audience with the catchy, melodic singing delivered by Celeste Dudeson which is counteracted by the harsh vocals of Daniel Breen. The two vocalists blend to create a raw and earnest performance that is complemented by the beautifully crafted and heavy-hitting instrumentation of Corey, Tim, Daniel and Holly.

Enigmatic progressive metallers and Adelaide locals, Dyssidia, will be providing a thought-provoking and vibrant performance sure to capture everyone’s attention. With a back catalogue of music that spans a period of over 10 years, there will be no shortage of material for them to draw upon, with a set that will consist of older music as well as brand-new material.

If you’re into the resurgence of nu-metal that is being given a modern edge, then you’ll be silly to overlook Melbourne’s Druid. With the spice of duel vocals and dirty, chuggy riffs, Druid are a band that shines when they take to stages. Since the release of their debut E.P and 2019’s full-length album, The Beauty In The Decay, they have well and truly established themselves as heavyweights within the Australian scene, having toured with acts like Alpha Wolf, Void Of Vision and Earthcaller among other high profile bands.

Ironstone are a group of youngsters, but don’t let that fool you into thinking they are green. The Victorian metalcore outfit have been forging a path on their musical journey for several years now, and are rapidly rising as a band to watch. Their tenacity and hunger to produce and perform well-crafted and atmospheric djent-infused music has solidified them as an act that is going places fast, and they are certain to put on an impressive live show at this festival.

Adding further metalcore to the Outcast Festival line-up is Melbourne-based five-piece Rise From Ashes who released their debut single Obliviate earlier this year, which has quickly become a crowd favourite at shows. Rise From Ashes cite influences such as Periphery, Parkway Drive, Bury Tomorrow and Currents. The band promises it has the tunes to get you moving.

Prog-metalcore band from Adelaide, Lumens, will be offering up a unique blend of razor-sharp riffs and harmonious vocal melodies that gives them a distinctive edge among their heavy music peers. Lumens formed in 2022 and have been creating waves since their emergence, delivering captivating live performances.

Finally, capping off the line-up for Outcast Festival 2023, is New Million, an alternative metal act with a sound that blends aggressive guitar with electronic elements to serve up a uniquely captivating modern production. Formed only recently in 2020, the band have leapt forward with rapid motion to make a name for themselves, and their inclusion on Outcast Festival certifies a damned solid line-up.

With a plethora of aural delights on offer, this is a show not to be missed. The inaugural Outcast Festival is happening on Saturday, December 16 at Stay Gold, 133 Sydney Road, Brunswick and kicks off from 2pm.
