THE LOCATION:  Flemington Racecourse, Melbourne

THE CAPACITY:  25,000

THE DEETS:  1 day, 4 stages, bars, food, markets.

THE BANDS:  28 bands in total, with 1/3 being local artists.

ABOUT THE AUSTRALIAN DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL

WTF? Why only Melbourne? Well, sometimes its better to build up to something big rather than throwing everything at it and hoping it works. This is the intelligent approach taken by the Live Nation, Unified and Secret Soundsexecutives (the crews behind bringing Download Downunder) are taking with Australia’s newest heavy music festival.

The promoters intention is to expand the event each year to eventually becoming a national event, and as grows it will become will in line with the UK Download Festival.
