Doom Candy – the new musical venture featuring Jeffrey Nothing – have released a deeply personal track written in memory of their fallen brother Steven titled Undivided.
A statement released by the band says: “Steven passed away on June 8 2023 after battling cancer. Although he was only in the band for a short time he brought it, always from his heart and soul. He was a Brother, Friend and Bandmate till the end. Over the Summer of 2022 we had the opportunity to gather in North Carolina to record a few songs together. This song was the first track Steven played bass on in the studio with the band and he made contributions to the arrangement as well. Rest In Power!
“Until the end of time… Undivided!”
Recorded the weekend of July 15-17, 2022 at Rivers & Bridges Studio in Silk Hope, North Carolina, Undivided was produced and engineered by Werner Beukes and written and recorded by Jeff Hatrix and Thomas Church. The song also features guitarist Anthony Greve, formerly of the band Pop Evil. The Doom Candy logo was created by Jeff Hatrix and enhanced by Jeff Gaither. The video was shot and edited by Brad Case and Brian Ustaszewski with some color grading by Zillian Black.
It illustrates the horrors of the seemingly never-ending Opioid Crisis. A war that is destroying generations and the Hope that real caring and community could one day bring.
