HEAVY caught up with vocalist Mike Joseph to get the lowdown on Ion Sky and what to expect.
With Round The Neck having been out for a couple of weeks now, we start by asking how a new band such as Ion Sky measures the level of success for a debut release.
“The barometer at the moment is literally feedback from people that have heard it,” he stated. “The feedback has been really positive. People have come back and said oh man, I just keep listening to the song… that’s the main thing with this. If people get back and listen to it and then want to listen to it again and again, and they send us a message saying we really love the production of the song, really love the song, that’s the tick for us. We’re a new band and a new project and all of the songs that are coming out are new, but we’ve been at it for a little bit and Jake – the producer – he’s also the rhythm guitarist and an amazing producer. He’s done a good job of getting the sounds right that we all love, and that’s the thing. I think as a measure of success, if you like it, and you can live with it and then people enjoy it… that’s a win.”
