Australian melodic death metal force Destruction of the Healer have just released their long-awaited sophomore album, A Universe Bereaved, a crushing collection of songs that sees the Wollongong outfit deliver their most ambitious and accomplished work to date.
Building upon the foundations of Let The Earth Reclaim Me and Dreaming Deep In Breathless Sleep, the new album combines the atmosphere and melodic grandeur of classic Gothenburg melodic death metal with the relentless aggression of modern American death metal. Intricate guitar harmonies, blistering technicality, dynamic songwriting and haunting atmosphere come together to create a record that is as emotionally powerful as it is devastatingly heavy.
To celebrate the album’s release, the band will be taking A Universe Bereaved to the stage with a run of Australian live appearances, including Trapped Under Ice Festival in Canberra on July 24, Society City in Wollongong on July 26, and Melbourne’s iconic The Tote Hotel on September 5, with further dates to be announced.
