Def Leppard’s tour will go ahead

Share This:

Def Leppard’s Vivian Campbell recently announced that his cancer had returned. A further update to his situation finds Campbell confirming that he’ll continue touring with the band.

Vivian said ‘So, so happy to report that I’ve dodged the bullet of radiation. I was due to start a course that would have sidelined me for most of the first leg of the US tour, but my brilliant doctors have steered me towards an alternative course of treatment that will enable me to re-join the tour this Saturday night in Birmingham, Alabama. Furthermore, they’ve tailored future treatments to accommodate the tour schedule so I won’t have to miss any more shows.  I’m so happy and so indebted to the wonderful physicians who have worked so hard on my behalf to make this happen.’

No shows will be missed or cancelled in Australia and for the USA, Trixter guitarist, Steve Brown, will fill in for Vivian until Saturday’s performance in Alabama.  Vivian will then rejoin the band and forge ahead for the rest of their world tour.

Def Leppard will be supported in Australia by special guests Live.

Baby Animals will also join Def Leppard and Live for the Sydney and Perth show

and Electric Mary will appear with them both in Melbourne.
