CHOP SUEY Robbed While On Tour- GOFUNDME Page Set Up To Keep Tour Going

It’s every touring musician’s worst nightmare. Having your tour van broken into and finding the lowlifes stole things precious and essential to being able to play live on stage.

System Of A Down tribute outfit Chop Suey – who have long been friends of HEAVY – had this happen to them recently in Athens and have issued the following statement.

CHOP SUEY is a UK tribute to System of a Down currently on our first European tour. On the morning of our show in Athens on 11th October, we returned to our tour van to find the windows smashed in and several valuable and important items stolen. This included two members’ entire suitcases, but also a box of drum mics, drum pedals and our entire bass guitar rig.

To say we are devastated is an understatement. After the thousands of kms travelled and the insane amount of work that goes into making a tour happen, this is absolutely heartbreaking for all of us, especially those whose equipment and personal items have been stolen.

The loss of these items represents not just a personal and business financial loss to the band but also puts the future of the following show dates in potential jeopardy. We have reported the theft to the Athens police who could not be any less interested…

We are starting a GoFundMe to try and recover the losses and to make sure the remainder of the tour can happen. If any of you can help us raise this money we will be eternally grateful and will find some special way of thanking you all in future.

The band have started a GoFundMe page to ensure the tour can still proceed, so please help in any way you can – even just by sharing this article.
