BRUCE! have an accurate tag line, “Your new favourite band!” and they’ve got it pretty spot on.
It may sound a little arrogant, but they have the lineage (including members of Hytest and Life Adjustment Disorder), the know how and the sense of humour to easily pull it off plus the guys are blazing out of what seems to be nowhere with their self-titled release.
The stands outs are Money And Go (a Cosmic Psychos and Mudhoney blend), Journey (which would sit comfortably amongst The Meanies, Psychotic Turnbuckles and Bored! on any compilation), Hazy Eyes (a chorus that Dave Wyndorf would be proud of!), Someday (GOD inspired and reminiscent of Radio Birdman) and Alf (more classic Mudhoney fuzz). This album has the feel of the old days reeking of beer-stained floors and sweat-soaked flannies; with a chorus of drunken mates singing along proudly.
