One of the breakout bands of 2013 has certainly been Melbourne five-piece Bronson. Not only has their debut LP Blood Brothers been having critics bandy around comments such as “one of the finds of 2013” and “an album that will make you lose control” but this band led by front-man Jay Clair have also left the Melbourne live scene in shock with some blistering performances at Next! and the infamous Brewtality.
For those a little late on the Bronson bandwagon this is a band that promises Pantera-sized riffs and Killswitch Engage-like choruses and then delivers. Their modern style of groove metal is just the right sound to make any true metal fan lose control. One listen to Blood Brothers and you are left knowing that Bronson – made up of Jay Clair (vocals), Simon Bailey (guitar), Gary Horn (guitar), Paul Stanway (bass) and Shane Turville (drums) – are a band that have a big future ahead of them.
