Inspired by a less than favourable experience with authorities, Vigilante is an intricately deceptive combination of musical elements pulling together to raise a middle finger to those on top. The song shouts back at hypocritical elites on behalf of everyday people with a punchy chorus straight to the point; ‘One rule for you, one rule for me! Tonight lights out, we go Vigilante!”
Bobby Maguire has drawn on influences from fellow Queensland artists Violent Soho and Powderfinger to bring Vigilante to life. This Frankenstein of a song sews together thick guitar riffs with clever lyrics and explosive hooks, capturing anger and frustration before releasing it in a healthy dose of rock.
