BLACK RHENO Prepare For Battle

Share This:

Sydney brutal groove master’s Black Rheno have just released one hell of a slab of sludge with their new tune “Battle Ready” and they are about to hit the road with it.

They are a band that has forged a name for themselves as one of the country’s top heavy acts with their genre-bending mix of stoner, sludge, grind and groove metal.

Along with creating their own vibe and style with this infectious assault off riffs, they are also well known for putting on one hell of a live show. These guys seriously don’t fuck around when it’s time to hit the stage and have truly earned their reputation for creating one of the most intense heavy metal party vibes going. In just two weeks they’ll be taking that brutal groove party on the road hitting venues along the East Coast.

Watch Black Rheno “Battle Ready” below:

Next Friday, May 7, Black Rheno kick the Battle Ready Tour off at the Gold Coasts most killer live music venue, Mo’s Desert Clubhouse in Burleigh Heads.

On Saturday they will be taking the groove party into Brisbane for the first inaugural South Side Of Hell Fest at The Mansfield Tavern which has a huge line up of heavy acts playing right through the day. Joining Black Rheno on the Friday night is such a solid lineup of acts we have to dig a little deeper on each band because god damn if ever there was an all killer no filler bill, this is it!

First, let’s check out Azreal.

With more hooks than a Queensland bait shop, this four-piece thrash groove machine has dominated the stages down-under for close to a decade.

Along with demolishing stages nationwide, they have also blitzed crowds internationally touring with the likes of DevilDriver and more. Azreal’s savage percussion and punishing vocals deliver the kind of musical experience that has been sorely missing from the global metal scene for far too long. Their latest album Premonition is literally an audio buffet of choice tracks, especially if you are a fan of bands like Lamb of God, Sepultura and Rob Zombie. These guys are well known in the Australian metal scene and for a very good reason; they’re a world-class act who throw down one hell of a live show and if you’ve somehow missed them, then crank this tune up below.

Next up we have some all-time hardcore grooves with Massic.

This Brisbane-based outfit formed in 2016 has been heavily involved in the Brisbane scene, playing events such as Shredfest, Ye God of Metal, Metal United Down Under, Halloween Hysteria, Dead of Winter Festival and more.

2018 saw the release of Massic’s debut album Redshift, which received acclaim from reviewers and pundits alike. It delivered 10 tracks of musical intensity, massive riffs and head-banging grooves and coincided with an Australian East-coast tour.

Massic have quickly built a nationwide reputation as one of the most exciting live bands in the Australian metal and hardcore scenes, delivering their signature sound with as much conviction, passion and energy as physically and mentally possible.

Opening the show is one hell of a duo that go by the name of F.U.C (Forests Under Construction).

This power thrashing two-piece Environmental Nu Thrash metal band from Brisbane formed back in 2010 and changed the world forever.

Being the first environmental Nu-Thrash band in the genre, and still are the only band in the genre as far as they know can tell us. Having toured across Australia as well as getting their dicks out in Japan and Taiwan, F.U.C. have been places. Inspired by bands along the lines of Nuclear Assault, Dark Angel, Coroner and Enya and spicing it up with their often-laughable lyrics and stupid stage antics. F.U.C.! bring thrash metal and comedy together for one hell of a show.

If you want to see two big dudes in maniki’s blast out tunes about saving dolphins then you’d better get in early to catch these guys tear you a new one!

So, pretty much from top to bottom, side to side, front to back this is one event at Mo’s Desert Clubhouse you don’t want to miss. A huge line up of highly entertaining bands playing a slew of riffs and styles joining forces to provide one killer night of music. If you’re in Brisbane then they are all (except for Azreal) playing The South Side of Hell fest the next night with way too many bands for us to breakdown in this article… what a selection of events, aren’t you lucky!!
