BIGSOUND Festival have dropped the mic today on an undeniable second announcement, filling an epic four-night adventure of sound and setting yet another benchmark for new live music discovery in Australia. BIGSOUND Festival welcomes triple j Unearthed back this year as it expands its showcase of new talent across three big nights at Oh Hello! Along with showcasing the very best acts discovered on triple j Unearthed in the last 12 months, Unearthed are also offering three spots to local Brissie bands. To be eligible, bands simply upload their music to triple j Unearthed by July 31.
Double J are also making their BIGSOUND Festival debut, curating an intimate night of music at Black Bear Lodge on the Thursday, featuring some incredible talent heard on their first three amazing years on air. The lineup will be unveiled with the full BIGSOUND Festival program in August.
As well as just the music, the BIGSOUND Festival experience is going to the next level this year, as 10 visual artists take over Fortitude Valley to show the world what they’ve got. Immerse yourself in lighting, projection, installation and illustration works as you make your way between BIGSOUND’s 18 festival venues.
