ARRIVAL OF AUTUMN ‘Harbinger’

Share This:

Here is what we have been waiting for in 2019 an album so brutal it haves you head-banging wherever you are listening to it!!! The sheer brutality of Arrival Of Autumn’s first album with Nuclear Blast is just something to behold.

This is a band that has done things the old-fashioned way. Growing up in Canada they gigged in their hometown, created shows for themselves, released two indie albums before being noticed by one of the most important producers in the game – Jason Suecof. His work with them landed their signing with Nuclear Blast and now they have delivered Harbinger – an album that could turn out to be one of the most important albums of 2019.

The album explodes with opening track ‘Hurricane On The Horizon’ seeing the duel guitars duelling and the result is a sound that quickly wins you over. Then comes the brutality, amazing sheer brutality as the instrumental side of the band hits full pace and the stunning vocals of Jamison Friesen come into play.

From there on Arrival Of Autumn show no sign of slowing down. ‘End Of Existence’ continues the onslaught while ‘Witness’ reveals a band at the top of their game – every instrument working in unison and sounding stunning as a result. That old-fashioned brutal sound that so many of us love continues with ‘The Horror’ while ‘Old Bones – New Blood’ sees the band experiment with the vocals a little which brings something even more to the table.

That willing to experiment with their sound continues throughout the album. ‘Better Off Without’ is a track that just continues to build and build before a strong electronic influence creeps in at one point while the busy opening of ‘Symbiotic’ soon sees Brendan Anderson and Ryan Sorenson deliver some truly amazing guitar work later on.

As Harbinger goes on though the better and better Arrival Of Autumn become. ‘An Omen Of Loss’ sees an epic sound that is normally reserved for a band well beyond newcomers like this while ‘The Endless’ reveals Friesen as one of the best vocalists around while the track itself also gets very interesting instrumentally, something that shows that this is a band that could well be capable of anything one day. Then comes the absolute masterpiece – ‘Apocalyptic’ – which is easily described as one of the best brutal tracks to be released in a long time.

Harbinger announces Arrival Of Autumn as one of the must hear bands in 2019. The brilliance of this album is going to win over a lot of fans and mark my words this is a band that we will be seeing big things from in the future.
