Eora/Sydney-based punk rock quintet FANGZ have just unveiled their new show The Night Show with Cottreau – shot and directed by Rhys Bennett (DZ Deathrays, Totally Unicorn).
The Night Show with Cottreau is a take on how the media often gives the wrong people a platform. Whether it’s reality stars, criminals, or athletes, they’re handed the mic to share opinions or sell products. By doing that, the media not only amplifies them but makes them seem relatable, even likable, just because they’re entertaining. It’s a look at how easily narratives can be controlled, and it leaves you unsure of what to believe.
Host Josh Cottreau describes the motivation behind the show: “The Night Show with Cottreau isn’t just a talk show—it’s the blueprint for what late-night should be. Think David Letterman, but smarter. Jerry Springer, but classier. It’s not just better; it’s necessary. Late-night needs saving, and I’m the guy to do it.”
FANGZstock‘s return was recently announced as an interstate tour, joined by Mountain Wizard Death Cult across all shows. The first stop will be Meanjin/Brisbane, with local acts Something Something Explosion, BOOF HEADS, Joy In Motion and Boys at the Back. Following this, both acts will perform at Naarm/Melbourne with locals Raging Hormones, Arabella and The Heist, Damaged Goods Club and Dear Matilda. FANGZstock will finish in FANGZ’s hometown Eora/Sydney, joined by Bare Bones, Dedpan, Creep Features and Second Idol. Along with the shows, the event will also include a Hot Dog Eating Contest, Unlucky Door Prize and Kissing Booth.
