Premiere: PUNISH “Grief”

PUNISH’s second single Grief is two and a half minutes of high energy, hardcore punk rock, delivered
with a ferocious vocal that spits lyrics like they’re poison and set to a tempo you can have a heart attack
to.

As the title suggests, the song is about grief, more specifically the grieving process and the realisation
of one’s own mortality. As Tome (singer/guitarist/songwriter) states “It’s fuckin’ hard, depressing and
the grieving process can take a heavy, enduring toll. This song speaks to that, though at the same time
the song’s about overcoming grief and coming to the realisation that wallowing in sorrow gets you
nowhere”
.

Grief serves as a homage to those that have been loved and lost, as epitomised by the last line which screams “I wanna live for them!”. The song was recorded by Jason Whalley (of Frenzal Rhomb) at the infamous home of Sydney punk rock the Pet Food Factory and mixed and mastered by Nick Franklin of Calico Sound.

Grief features on the bands upcoming, self-titled debut which is set to be released June 25 on all streaming platforms.
