The most isolated metal band in the world, Southeast Desert Metal, today released the second video from their second album, BREAK THE SILENCE which is released on November 23rd.
The title track from the album was filmed by acclaimed cinematographer Dylan River (Son of “Sweet Country” director Warwick Thornton).
It deals with the dark history of Australia, told through an indigenous lens.
Singer Chris Wallace, said “The meaning Break The Silence is being as one. We all have the same blood colour, only our skin is a different colour. We should live our lives as humans. The song is based on the history of racism. No one talks much about our history. We have monuments in town for western explorers but there are no indigenous people. So the song is about recognising that and working together.”
Southeast Desert Metal were just announced to perform at the coveted Mona Foma Festival in Tasmania in January. The band will be touring nationally in January and February.
