Zkarv is a one-man band from Brisbane bringing a variety of sounds, implementing elements of black metal, ambiance, noise, atmospheric music and synth. The project was founded in 2020, brought to life in 2021 and since then has had a few releases, but this one is by far the longest and most developed in sound.
Treebound brings elements of atmospheric black metal and darkwave into the mix, the songs are longer and themes and concepts more present than previous releases. The new full length featuring longer more monotonous songs, a more atmospheric presence and lengthy runtime.
Treebound follows more of a concept than the previous albums, a dark journey through cursed woods and death itself. The soundscapes offer a variety of horror and diversity in their harrowing walls, every track has its own piece and story to tell while contributing to the overarching theme of the album.
The album also features a new version of the previously released tracks A Foul Trust, Put To Death In Rotten Wind and a long ambient piece to conclude the vile journey.
