Minneapolis-based Zaq Baker has released the official concert video for fan-favorite pop-punk single Bummer Soul. The track is featured on Baker’s new album If It’s Not Zaq Baker Live at the Green Room, I’m Not Going, which is out now.
Recorded and filmed at the Green Room on Baker’s thirtieth birthday, Bummer Soul combines pop-punk revival with a high instinct for melody and relatable lyrics – offering a twist on the torch song by capturing the young and love worn at the same time.
“I wrote Bummer Soul by combining a real experience I was having with an unrequited crush,” Baker explained, “alongside rhymes and ideas I imagined would resonate with an audience. Something must have worked because Bummer Soul has evolved into a stage staple – a frequent request at shows with fan reports of stuck in my head and relatable.“
