XMusic, Australia’s dedicated hard rock label, is taking over Brisbane venue Soapbox for three nights this September, becoming your alternative showcases for rock, hard rock and metal. The label celebrated its 5th Anniversary earlier this year and the celebrations aren’t finished yet. With Brisbane becoming the centre of the Australian music industry for the week, XMusic is making sure there’s somewhere for those who like their music a little louder.
September 1, 2 and 3 will see Soapbox host three nights of live music, industry catch ups and showcases from across Australia’s heavy scene and you don’t need a conference pass, wristband or industry credential to get through the door. Wednesday night also features Wall of Sound’s Heavy Metal Mixer, including a keynote panel hosted by Wall of Sound Editor-in-Chief Paul ‘Browny’ Brown and featuring Hellfest‘s Christie Medina-Gonzalez, Australian publicist Chris Maric and more. Thursday night is Metal Singles Night, so come along and meet like minded music lovers and bang the night away…
The Soapbox kitchen is open daily from 5-9pm, with free entry to the evening showcase with every meal purchased before 7pm.
XMusic began as an idea from former Sony Music executive Tim McLean-Smith to create a home and support network for emerging Australian rock bands. Five years later, that idea has grown into a fully fledged independent label with an expanding roster that includes Sisters Doll, Dellacoma, Karly Jewell and XMusic‘s first international signing, Blvd of Eyes. This September, XMusic brings that community together in Brisbane. One Room, Three nights, Five Years Loud.
