Melbourne metalcore outfit Windwaker have dropped new single Get Out, off their new album HYPERVIOLENCE, which arrives July 12 via Cooking Vinyl Australia & Fearless Records.
It’s a melancholic alt-rock jam, sprinkled with phonk samples and Memphis/Southern hip-hop influenced electronic passages. The chorus is anthemic in nature, with less focus on technical guitar parts and more emphasis on playful rhythms.
“‘Get Out’ is about wanting someone (or something) out of your life and conscious thought,” the band offers. “It explores the discomfort of something negative returning to the present, and the consequences of staying in a relationship for longer than you should.”
Windwaker are playing a short string of intimate shows this June in Belgrave, Brunswick and Wagga Wagga before embarking on their first-ever U.S. tour through June/July in support of Northlane.
