Warbringer’s World’s Torn Asunder Australian tour has been tearing this country a new one for the last week or so and last night’s gig at Melbourne’s Northcote Social Club took no prisoners.
The crowd prepared for combat early with relative newcomers Sewercide beginning proceedings putting on a fine effort, leading into what is fast becoming Melbourne’s Big 2 of thrash, Desecrator and the mind blowing In Malice’s Wake.
By the time the California soldiers took charge of the stage, the crowd was in a fist pumping frenzy.
Highlighting a selection of tracks from their three previous albums, and even throwing in a Motorhead cover (We Are) the Road Crew, Warbringer make thrash fun again. Kudos to the venue for not stopping anyone from stage diving either. Lyrically their songs are about the obvious, but front man John Kevill’s cheeky grins ensure the audience is there to enjoy it as much as the band. Warbringer bring their youth to the table in a frenetic refreshing live show. Oldies who think they’ve been there done that better leave their jaded attitude’s at the door. These guys mean business.
To the brave that participated in the obligatory wall of death, this oldie salutes you. To those that missed the tour, put your white high tops on and kick yourself.
