Look out Brisbane because the ghosts, witches, ghouls and everything that goes bump in the night is about to come out and play at Halloween Hysteria. Of course, those scary creatures will be right there alongside a line-up that includes great Aussie outfits such as King Parrot, The Bennies, Hard-Ons and Void Of Vision.
Of course for Void Of Vision, this will also serve as a great warm-up for the Good Things Festival so HEAVY Mag sat down with lead vocalist Jack Bergin to chat about Halloween Hysteria, Good Things and of course the band’s new EP Distubia.
“We got the offer a few months and we weren’t told then who the other bands were on the bill,” says Bergin as we chat about Halloween Hysteria. “We found out a little later on about the rest of the line-up and we were stoked because we are so high up on such a great bill. Bands such as King Parrot and The Bennies it is crazy… it is so diverse. I think it is going to be a great day because there will be so much going on.”
“I think a lot of the time for ourselves it depends on timing,” says Bergin as we talk about what makes Void Of Vision decide to say yes to a festival. “We try to make it pretty exclusive so it makes the times that we decide to come out and play in different states more special and that gets more people involved. I think though that this one was just a little bit too exclusive though because it feels like it has been a long time coming. We played Brisbane earlier in the year on the Story Of The Year tour but yeah that was something that perhaps our fans we couldn’t come out to see, us as a little support, but this is a festival where we have more to do and this will be the first time we have played a solid show in Brisbane for a year. So yeah I would say that perhaps we were a little too exclusive on this one, but we do usually go for exclusivity.”
