Brisbane alternative metal outfit VizieR are dropping just their second ever slab of music today, with Fallen following their impressive debut Requiem. Continuing VizieR‘s goal of fusing narrative and emotion with a dark visual style that places strong emphasis on story-driven music, Fallen further highlights the all-encompassing nature of VizieR‘s world.
By blending dark aesthetics with melodic heaviness, VizieR‘s music is more than a sonic escape; it is a unique combination of visual art with narrative concepts which paints a sonic landscape blurred between light and shade.
Fallen follows the plight of an Angel who was born with only one wing and, therefore, treated as an outcast. His desire to look like everyone else becomes an obsession, ultimately twisting the angel’s moral compass into believing his needs are stronger than those around him. The song is a musical metaphor for current trends and societal pressure, told through the eyes of a character who succumbs to temptation and suffers the consequences.
Requiem and Fallen are only the first two glimpses inside the minds of VizieR. Expect more twists and turns in the coming months, and prepare yourself for the extreme.
