Metalcore continues to go from strength to strength, and when a sub-genre like that does really well, more and more bands in that mould start to surface.

These Brisbane boys have unleashed their debut EP Stateless, and while they are a new band, the individual members’ pedigrees have given their sound, vibe and attitude a sheen of road hardened experience. All the hallmarks of Metalcore are present, but this band definitely resides more at the ‘metal’ end of the spectrum than the ‘core’ side of things and they do it extremely well.

They have managed to pull some ridiculously fat grooves out of their collective arses on this EP, and this is a joy to behold. It’s goddamn heavy when it needs to be, and then when the melody leaps out at you it has you thrusting your fist to the sky in exultation. Especially on closer, the aptly titled Let Chaos Reign and Burn. They have hit a real sweet spot in their heavy/melodic trade-off.

This EP reveals a new band with ridiculous promise. Bring on a debut full length.
