Sydney based Alt Rock outfit Verdani have just released their debut EP called ‘The Illusion Is Gone’.
The band have also announced their EP launch show at Botany View Hotel on July 25 alongside local supports The Veil and Meshky.
The EP is a display of elegant Alternative music where emotion, atmosphere and artistry collide. Drawing from elements post‑punk, goth, art rock and baroque influences, the band create immersive soundscapes that feel both intimate and expansive.
Verdani evokes the stark vulnerability of PJ Harvey, the soulful intensity of Jeff Buckley, the cinematic darkness of Nick Cave, and the slow‑burn elegance of The National, with moments of expansive psychedelia reminiscent of Pink Floyd. Verdani blend these touchstones into something distinctly their own: epic songs built on haunting melodies, dynamic shifts, and rich emotional weight.
Their songs unfold like dark, elegant soundscapes: passionate and melancholic reflections on the human condition, infused with longing, beauty and quiet hope.
Their debut EP ‘The Illusion Is Gone’ is available on all major online stores and streaming services.
This week Dave Griffiths caught up with the band – you can take a listen to the interview right here:
