There may be something wafting in the air down at Byron Bay, but rockers Valhalla Lights have decided to release their album My Gracious Highway over a 12 month period in 2016, one song at a time. The first song Rise Above will be released on 1 January 2016, the idea behind the move is to embrace the new way people listen to music. I assume that means short attention spans or lack of time in our busy lives.
Drummer Deon Driver said “Ever been in a space of going inwards, complete introspection and getting lost in deeper conversations of life? About facing all your demons head on and in a way that leaves you naked with vulnerability, uncomfortable and pushing the realms of darkness in order to reach the other side….a side where life feels lighter and free from adversity? Where you rise above your demons? Well that’s Rise Above..”
Maybe there is something in the air at Byron…The full album will be released at the end of 2016.
