Cold speaks to the very real struggle of succumbing to one’s vices and watching them upend a relationship. While the relationship may be broken beyond repair, you’ll always carry the love you had for that person with you. The subject matter is instantly relatable, and it’s encased in a musically cathartic package.
“The song is about constantly letting somebody you love down, and having them lose all faith in your relationship,” the band states. “It’s about how you’ve allowed all your emotional battles and vices to get in the way of properly caring about someone and destroying your relationship, but reminding them that they do hold a special place in your heart and they aren’t just another forgettable fling.”
