Buffalo quartet Until I Wake — new vocalist Justin Smith, alongside bassist Ryan Ridley, guitarists August Geitner and Niko Karras, and drummer Alex Curtin — are back in your ears with a new single, and it will shake your foundation to its very core.
Today, the band has shared the video for the ferocious rager Hole Hearted. The song is the first new track to feature Smith, who joined the band in 2023, and his addition to lineup has invigorated the band.
Until I Wake have upped the ante, cranking all knobs to 11. Pummeling verses collide with soaring, arena-ready choruses, all of which are backed with percussion so immediate it could replace your own heartbeat and a relentless barrage of neck-snapping riffs — the kind that hard rock fans can’t get enough of. Until I Wake have leveled up every element of their sound, and if Hole Hearted is any indication, they will settle for nothing less than world domination.
“The song was written to bring more awareness to mental health,” Until I Wake explain. “It speaks about the struggles of navigating anxiety, depression, and other mental illnesses. It addresses the feeling of constantly battling our own minds to live the life we want to live.”
