Buffalo quartet Until I Wake — new vocalist Justin Smith, alongside bassist Ryan Ridley, guitarists August Geitner and Niko Karras, and drummer Alex Curtin — have just dropped the lyric video for new single The Reverence.
The Reverence is easily one of the heaviest songs that Until I Wake have ever unleashed — rife with double bass blasts, screams that sound as though they clawed their way out of hell after a hard-fought battle, and a full on assault of riffs that mimic heavy artillery on the battlefield. The song is completed by neo-industrial crunch and hellacious synths, making for a wildly metallic ride.
The song is ultimately an apoplectic metal anthem designed to empower those who’ve been doubted and to push back against anyone who lacks the fortitude or bravery to see the bigger picture. Produced and recorded by Landon Tewers of The Plot In You, The Reverence really rips.
