The official face-value ticket resale service for Australia’s leading sold-out heavy music festival, UNIFY Gathering, has just gone live.
Visitors to UNIFY Gathering’s website and socials will be directed to click through to a specially created landing page on Twickets website, where festival-goers can buy and sell tickets to the festival at face-value.
UNIFY hinted at strict penalties for those who choose to trade their tickets above face-value via a post on Facebook on Tuesday announcing the upcoming partnership: “If you can no longer attend UNIFY 2018, please DO NOT adhere to the notion of scalping as we may simply void the ticket if we see people sell them for expensive prices.”
This partnership is another milestone in Twickets’ journey towards ensuring that music fans are not subjected to the extortionate prices found on the secondary ticketing market, and follows tie-ups with Ed Sheeran for his upcoming Australia tour dates and artists like Stormzy and Rag’n’Bone Man.
Danny Hannaford, Head of Twickets Australia, stated: “It’s fantastic to be working with Australia’s leading heavy music festival and see the team’s commitment to their attendees. Working together, we can ensure that fans are given a safe place to buy resale tickets at face value, steering them away from the rip-off secondary ticketing sites that harm both fans and the industry. Having sold out in under 5 days, 2018 is guaranteed to be a standout year for the festival, and we can’t wait to see it take Victoria by storm.”
