It’s the last show of Thy Art Is Murder’s headlining tour tonight with Aversions Crown, Feed Her To The Sharks, and Colossvs. Everyone and their mothers seems to love lists on the Internet, HEAVY’s Alex Sievers gives you his top ten tracks from Sydney’s finest.

  1. Infinite Death

Despite the absurdly stupid and offensive lyrics of this song, this was the first taste that many got of the band’s immensely brutal musical assault and it helped put Thy Art on the proverbial map.

  1. Soldiers Of Immortality

This is probably one of the very few decent songs off the band’s debut record, The Adversary, that wasn’t completely overshadowed when Hate dropped like an Atom Bomb in 2012.

8. The Purest Strain Of Hate

Fast, unrelenting and brutal are words that many a fan and critic use to describe Thy Art’s sound, and this song sums that up into three and a half minutes of sheer punishment.

7. Shadow of Eternal Sin

Arguably the biggest and best sleeper hit to come off their breakthrough release, Hate, there’s a very good reason as to why the band always play this one live.

6. Coffin Dragger

A guest appearance of Parkway Drive’s Winston McCall only adds to make this short burst of aggression the standout that it. Plus, the circle pits that are whipped up for this song when played live are just in-f*cking-sane.

5. Dead Sun

One of the better tracks off Hate, the moment when Chris ‘CJ’ McMahon screams ‘I can’t wait to die’ is a spine-tingling moment, and Nico Webbers (of War From A Harlot’s Mouth) makes a wicked addition to this song as well.

4. Holy War

Religious wars, holy lies, senseless death and violence, and a giant middle finger to any and all deities are just another day in the life of Thy Art Is Murder.

3. Fur And Claw

Fur And Claw is arguably the most intense song off Holy War, and if it doesn’t make you want to kill something or someone than there’s just something wrong with you.

  1. Deliver Us To Evil

Note to self: consider getting a tattoo of the lyric ‘BOW TO YOUR EMPTY GOD’ done across forehead.

1. Reign Of Darkness

Come on now, from the second you started reading this list, you knew that this would be number one. If you don’t lose your shit after the ‘YOU WILL SEE THE TRUE FACE OF PANIC’ line hits, then, again, there is just something wrong with you, and you should see a doctor immediately.
