Throwing Caution To The Wind: Backstage with BLOOD COMMAND

Interview by Kyra-Jade Coombs and Kris Peters

Videography, editing and graphics by Squirty G

Good Things Festival 2022 was so much fun for a lot of different reasons, but for HEAVY it also marked a significant milestone.

We were granted unprecedented backstage access for the final show of the tour in Brisbane on December 4, and didn’t we make the most of it!

It was challenging, fun, hectic, chaotic and nerve-wracking, but above all, it was a shit tonne of fun.

All up we did 7 or 8 video interviews on the day and up until now, we have only published the audio which doesn’t even capture part of the live experience. But now, thanks to cameraman extraordinaire Squirty who has spent hours editing and shuffling and splicing, the full video interviews are ready to roll out.

So keep an eye out over the next couple of weeks and watch how the HEAVY team handled every spontaneous outburst directed our way. We have left in pretty much everything, including the mistakes, to try and give you all an accurate peek behind the HEAVY curtain.

One that I was most looking forward to was speaking with Blood Command, who are now fronted by former Pagan vocalist Nikki Brumen. We had spoken via zoom before but never met, but she was as lovely in person as she was over the phone.

Check out the video below.
