Brisbane’s iconic and cherished live music venue The Zoo will celebrate 30 years of live music, art, and community this December. Today, the venue is thrilled to announce its full programme of 30th-anniversary celebrations, which kick off on December 2. Enlisting some very dear friends to help celebrate, the festivities will include more than 100 artists, performing or exhibiting over eight events, with a few mystery guests thrown in to keep you guessing…

On December 11, 1992, the Brisbane music landscape changed forever when Joc Curran and C. Smith opened the doors to The Zoo for the first time. Since opening, the venue has played host to a slew of massive international acts including The Pixies, Silverchair, The Black Keys, Lorde, Ben Harper and Nick Cave and The Dirty Three (to name a few), as well as being a regular performance space for local emerging artists. As one of Australia’s longest-running live music venues, The Zoo has been a central, iconic landmark in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley entertainment precinct and the Australian touring circuit.
