Melbourne purveyors of metalcore/deathcore; The Weight of Silence, are just about to release their debut album, titled, Sickness Unknown. You can get in early and stream the entire album below. Forming in 2012 in the small town of San Remo (Phillip Island) the four-piece band has been working hard to create their own tight melodic brutal sound.
The band was recently a part of the highly successful UNIFY- A Heavy Music Gathering this year. They will now release their anticipated debut album on 31 March 2016 and will be touring nationally in March/April in support of the launch.
HEAVY Music Magazine’s most senior writer, Rod Whitfield, says: “These boys hail from San Remo, one of my old stomping grounds. The first time I ever got drunk it was in this little coastal town, and I went to school just across the bridge on Phillip Island at Newhaven. Haven’t heard of too many heavy bands coming from this area, so it’s great to see they’re busting out. Their new single is a very weighty proposition indeed. Bludgeoningly HEAVY, but with glimpses of melody here and there as well, which is excellent. The riffs are jagged, the vocals are flesh-ripping and the rhythms pound like the hammers of hell. But then the chorus rises above it all, providing dynamics and contrast. This HEAVY band shows great great promise, check ’em out!”
