The Skies The Limit

Melbourne progressive instrumental project I Built The Sky recently dropped their third album The Zenith Rise.

Led by guitar wizard Rohan Stevenson, I Built The Sky are proudly proclaiming their latest release as the best material they have released.

“It’s instrumental and very guitar centred stuff”, he enthused, “with lots of riffs and a bit of shredding here and there. It’s heavy at times but also very melodic and I think it has a large spectrum of different emotions throughout. There are some powerful riffs; there’s the darker stuff and technical stuff but there’s also some really laid back melodic stuff as well”.

In the full interview, Rohan talks about the reception to the album, his goals with it, how and why it is their best album yet, the difficulties with being successful as an instrumental band, how he comes up with song titles without words for inspiration, his guitar playing and passion for it, what’s next for I Built The Sky and more.
