Monsters is the second single from Sydney hard rock outfit The Rentagades.
It started with Tony coming up with a banging bassline which he had been working on for a while, so you could say that was the DNA for the track!
Then Bleusy (lead guitar) and Scott (Vox, guitar) got in Bleusy’s studio, Studio Bleus, and started working on it with Tony. Bleusy came up with the guitar riffs which gave it that edgy feel and then him and Scott started putting some synth sounds in, and it all started coming together.
Dougie who is an animal on the skins then came up with a blistering drum track which drives the song along with Tony’s bassline which has a mad bass run through the change. Scott took the song away and started listening to it over and over, and it just had this dark mysterious feel about it that at the same time had an energetic up tempo feel.
