After five years of no ‘new’ music from EPICA the Dutch symphonic death metal band was supposed to return in 2020 with their brand new album Omega. But then of course Covid hit and the album that the band are so proud of had to wait on the shelf a little longer.
Of course, the mere fact that we even have an album from the band is a feat upon itself. Being Epica the album wasn’t complete without an orchestra and couple of choirs lending a hand and that is kind of difficult in the middle of the pandemic.
This week Dave Griffiths tool the opportunity to sit down and talk to EPICA front-woman Simone Simons about how the band managed to put the album together and she talked about some of the influences behind the album. You can take a full listen to the interview here:
