Fresh from a triumphant tour of Spain, The Meanies were gaggin’ to do another show and thought it’d been a while since they’d been out west so decided that Hotel Westwood would be a killer place for an Xmas party.
The old punks invited their mates Rocket Science along for the ride to play their trashy-psychedelic-garage-punk with new wave, no-wave art-punk enthusiasm. This will be a rare outing for Rocket Science – frontman Roman Tucker recently relocated to the UK. He’s here while the group complete a new album
Then to round out a night of rock excellence, noisy newcomers Super American Eagle, featuring Brent from the Dandy Warhols, Dave from Courtney Barnett/L.A. Mood, and Bob from Preston (and Immigrant Union). Super American Eagle recently released their first single Yes and will be releasing their debut album on Cheersquad in 2023.
The icing on the rock ’n roll cake though is none other than departing 3PBS legend Kev Lobotomi who’ll be spinning discs before, in between and after the bands.
Tickets from the venue, they cost a measly $30 plus booking fee, $35 on the door if there are any left.
